Brooke Silva, Integrative Nutrition Health Coach

My mission is to make the world a happier, healthier place one person at a time. I do this by helping clients break cycles and challenge beliefs that keep them from achieving whole body wellness and feeling their best.

My Journey

We all have a story about our journey - what’s led us to the present and what’s motivating us toward the future. My journey began almost a decade ago and was triggered by the loss of my mother, who died far too young, and in poor health, as a result of lifestyle choices. As part of the healing process, I began taking stock of my own life - my physical health, mental health, relationships, spirituality, career and finances. There wasn’t a dimension of my life and wellbeing that I didn’t explore and in the end I doubled down on diet and exercise, which seemed like the natural place to begin.

I started experimenting with my diet, paying attention to what I ate and how it made me feel, and began a regular fitness routine that included as much outdoor activity as possible. In the process, I discovered I loved cooking and hiking, which opened me to a kind of mind-body connection I had not previously experienced. At 46 I joined a team sport (the first in my life) and in that found an amazing group of women who challenged my perceptions of beauty, strength, and gender norms, and helped me overcome limiting beliefs around my own body image. I found an amazing gym where I became part of another supportive community and established more lasting friendships. Over the next couple of years, I started paying closer attention to my sleep routine, subscribed to a meditation app, bought a juicer, and developed a yoga practice. At 50, I was as healthy as I’d ever been, had a strong social network, felt good about my personal finances, and had a successful career. Yet I wasn’t happy and I often didn’t feel good.

After considerable soul searching, a little therapy, and a lot of journaling, I realized my successful career was no longer in alignment with who I was or what I valued. As a result I felt depleted, anxious, and unwell much of the time, which created additional stress in my home and family relationships. Within a year, in perhaps the greatest act of bravery I’ve displayed to date (and I completed a 100+ mile solo hike around Mont Blanc), I made the decision to pivot. I left my career in April 2024 to focus on completing the Integrative Nutrition Health Coach program in which I was currently enrolled and to begin the next leg of my professional journey - inspiring and supporting others on their wellness journeys.

I would love to hear your story and explore how I can help you accomplish your health and wellness goals.
